About 225/40R18 tyres
In 225/40R18, 225 is the width of the tyre in millimetres, 40 is the sidewall height as a percentage of that width, R is radial construction, and 18 is the rim diameter in inches. Stay with the sizes the car's maker has approved.
A low profile: the steering is precise, but it takes bumps badly — go carefully on broken roads.
This size is stocked in dördmövsüm və yay. Summer tyres are made for warm weather and all-season tyres for year-round use in a mild climate; winter tyres are made for low temperatures, snow and winter roads.
There are 6 models in 225/40R18, from 115 ₼. They are held in Baku, and can be paid for over up to 12 months at no interest.
Brands in this size: Yokohama, Vinmax, Vitour və Nankang.
Fitted from the factory to cars such as Toyota Corolla, Lexus IS, Hyundai Elantra, Kia Forte.
Fitting and balancing are charged separately at our workshop, and the price depends on the size and kind of tyre. On some brands and models fitting is free while an offer is running.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I fit a different size instead of 225/40R18?
- Only the sizes the car's maker approves. Other popular R18 sizes on the same rim diameter are listed above; if in doubt read the car's papers or write to us.
- How many should I buy?
- Use the same model, worn to a similar depth, on the same axle. When only two are changed, the better pair usually belongs on the rear axle for safety -- and what the car's maker requires comes first.
- How do delivery and fitting work?
- We deliver across Baku from stock. Fitting and balancing are charged separately at our workshop and the price depends on the tyre. On some brands and models fitting is free during an offer.
- What sort of tyre is 225/40R18?
- 225/40R18 is a radial passenger-car size: 225 mm wide, a 40% profile and an R18 rim. Tyres this size are mostly fitted to saloons and crossovers; load and speed ratings differ by model, so never go below the minimum ratings in your car's papers.
- What pressure should 225/40R18 be inflated to?
- Pressure belongs to the car, not to the tyre: read the plate on the driver's door pillar or inside the fuel flap. Passenger cars are usually between 2.0 and 2.5 bar, and the maker may ask for more when the car is loaded. Check it monthly with the tyres cold — low pressure costs fuel and wears the tyre out.
- When should a tyre be replaced?
- Replace a summer tyre by 1.6 mm of tread and a winter tyre by about 4 mm; when the tread has worn down to the wear bars the tyre is finished. Whatever its age, a tyre with a cracked, bulging or deformed sidewall is not fit to use.
